DIY Interior Design Steps

One misconception about interior design is that it can be really expensive. While the price may not be in your budget, the return on investment is definitely worth it. Here are a few tips to start with if you are really not in a space to hire an interior designer.

1.Purge all excess clutter and junk

When staging your home, potential buyers want to imagine themselves living there. That’s hard to do if they see your piled up mail on the counters, dishes in the sink, and stacks of magazines on the living room floor.

     2. Get crafty with chandeliers or creative statement pieces.

Yes, you want people to fall in love with your home, but creative statement pieces really get the conversation going and break the ice more to get clients to ease in more with being open about how they really feel about the home.

3.Take a trip to a flea market or thrift store

Get creative and purchase a nice carpet, throw pillows or lamps. These pieces can really enhance the look of your home at first glance.

4.Paint chipped or discolored patches in the wall

You may want to paint the areas that are mainly noticeable in the hallways, kitchen, and bathroom. Especially along with the door frame. If the potential buyers see chips or discoloration, it can really cause them to think of additional costs or repairs.

If all this may seem a bit much, it may be necessary to speak with a professional. I do consultations as well.
