How to Store Seasonal Decorations
Of course, with seasonally changing decorations comes an increased need for nifty storage solutions, particularly if your home is small or has limited storage space. Luckily, with some simple organization, you will be all-set for hassle-free seasonal décor changes.
Store similar items together. There’s nothing worse than having to rummage through ten different boxes in search of a single item. By packing similar items together in labeled boxes or storage bins, you will easily be able to locate any item you are looking for, without making a huge mess in the process.
Sort by season. Equally, packaging your decorations by season means you won’t need to disturb your boxes until the correct time of year comes around. This also means you don’t need to remember each item to find – just take out the season’s storage bin and go!
Pack effectively. This is incredibly important, not only from a convenience perspective, but to keep your seasonal decorations in a good condition for several years. Extend the life of your accessories by packaging carefully, with heavy items at the bottom and lighter ones on top. Make sure to wrap fragile pieces for extra protection.
Clear out your collections regularly. It’s perfectly ok to have lots of quirky seasonal decorations but make sure they’re all in use. Clear out overused and broken accessories often, as well as those you simply don’t like anymore. This will enhance your storage space whilst making room for the addition of beautiful new items.
